Answer: My Prills are 17 years old and they still work great! A few people have needed to soak them in a 3% hydrogen peroxide solution to brighten them or if they develop algae, but this does not impact the effectiveness. -

Answer: I don't actually know the correct answer for this, but I would think it would be a matter of the quality of your water. If you have good water, I wouldn't filter it. If your water has a lot of chlorine or other contaminants, I would filter first. -

Answer: Usually the only time one experiences a metallic taste is if the prills are left in the water for an extended period of time, usually 2-3 weeks. When this happens, simply dump out the water, refill the cure and let it cure as originally instructed. -
