The igniter is battery operated, and the battery required is a standard AA size. The ignitor provides a satisfying and fast ignition, and it is effortless to push the button. Customer experience and reception: The customer reviews are mixed for this product. Some customers found the igniter to be heavy-duty and very satisfactory for their needs. Others, however, found that the igniter had a weak spark, making it difficult to light their gas fireplace. Relocating the igniter in direct gas flow improved the situation for a few customers.
