The Canson XL Series Sketchbook is a student grade paper that is great for graphite and colored pencils. It is a glue-bound pad with 125 sheets and measures 9x12 inches. While the paper is pretty smooth, it has some texture. The color of the paper is cream, and it can be used for one-off drawings or other purposes. However, this might not work if you want to keep your sketchbook intact. The paper is not thin enough to see lines underneath the paper piece, but thick enough for watercolour. The sketchbook works well with colored pencils, but doesn't work well with alcohol-based markers.
