BOSS FS-1-WL Compact Wireless Footswitch | Control Digital Music Score Apps, YouTube Videos, DAWs, Instruments and More via Bluetooth | MIDI |

The Boss FS-1-WL Bluetooth Wireless Footswitch offers a compact and versatile solution for musicians looking for a wireless control pedal. With the ability to function as a page turner or MIDI controller, it provides flexibility in various applications such as looping and video playback control. One of the highlights of this pedal is its compact size, allowing it to easily fit into side pockets of instrument cases or backpacks. Additionally, users have the option to expand the pedal with two more switches using standard Boss FS-1 pedals. While the pedal offers a range of features, there are some drawbacks that have been pointed out by customers. Firstly, the foot switches are closely positioned, making it difficult to differentiate between them and causing accidental page turns. Secondly, the LEDs on the pedal are excessively bright, which can be distracting on dark stages. Another downside is the lack of automatic reconnection with Bluetooth. Each time the pedal is turned off, users need to manually re-pair it through their device's Bluetooth settings. This can be time-Consuming and inconvenient during live performances. Additionally, the virtual keyboard does not automatically activate when taking notes in sheet music, requiring the user to turn off the pedal and go through the pairing process again. Furthermore, there is noticeable delay and latency in MIDI commands, affecting the performance of looping and time-based effects control. While the companion app for programming the pedal is functional, it has been described as cumbersome and not user-friendly. In conclusion, the Boss FS-1-WL Bluetooth Wireless Footswitch offers decent functionality, but it falls short of the high expectations set by the Boss brand. The pedal's compact size and versatility are commendable, but its drawbacks, including the closely positioned foot switches, excessively bright LEDs, and issues with Bluetooth connectivity and MIDI latency, make it less than ideal for some musicians.
