I have around 2500 ft of steel pipe fence if I use this primer do I need to add a top coat of paint, since I want it to be red. ? and this is red.
Answer: If the steel is clean and ready for primer it will be easy to top coat and the paint job will last much longer. I would top coat. -

Since the red oxide primer is oil based, can I use acrylic enamel as a top coat?
Answer: Acrylic enamel is water based, oil under water may not work .Initially it may, but the acrylic paint may crack later due to the chemical composition of undercoat. -

Answer: This is an oil based primer. Very high quality very hard to clean up have plenty of thinner on hand. I used this on a propane tank and my metal garage door which has galvanized steel. I used rustoleum on the propane tank and it has held up well. I have not painted the garage door yet and it has only the primer has been a year and a half and it still looks great. No adhesion problems what so ever. Maybe I will get it painted if the rain stops and the temperature stays under 90 degrees, lo -

Answer: I would think so. It is an excellent primer. The best I have found. Read the instructions. -

Is this product made to stop rust on galvanized metal, or is it just the color of galvanized metal? The reviews seem ambiguous.
Answer: I ordered white, I used it to prime my classic vehicle, i have limited garage space so its been outside a few years 3+ I would say it is a 99.9% good primer product that has very good adherence to sanded and bear metal. I believe it would work on a treated surface. -

Answer: Yes you can, oil based primer takes longer to dry and cover stains better
