The star ingredients include organic beeswax, plant protein, caranuba wax, mineral oil, vitamin B5 and the company's custom Boneyard scent. It does not leave a color residue in hair and is suggested strongly. However, it needs to be applied on wet hair, or it could not be combed through. It is also recommended only for short hair both for volume and creating a messy look. The product has excellent hold, but there are some complaints about the thick and white formula and the difficulty to wash out even with shampoo. Some customers mix it with another natural honey-like product to make it easier to work with.
