It is made of laminate material, and it sounds great. In case of a left-handed player, one can easily swap around the strings as the ukulele is symmetrical. It does not have a strap button, and the bottom is smooth and rounded. However, one can drill a hole to fit a strap button. Finally, it is also available in tenor size, which is priced at about $150.
