WECK Jars Editorial Review
The Weck 745 tulip jar has garnered enthusiastic feedback from customers primarily for its functionality in maintaining sourdough starters. Users appreciate the innovative wide-mouth design that facilitates easy access for feeding and mixing, eliminating the awkward wrist angles that come with using narrow-mouth containers. The tulip shape combines the benefit of a broader opening while minimizing the countertop footprint, making it an ideal choice for those who want practicality without sacrificing space. Many reviewers highlight the jar's thick and sturdy glass Construction, which assures them of its durability. Customers have noted that after extensive use and multiple dishwasher cycles, the jar holds up exceptionally well, maintaining its integrity without any issues over time. The visibility provided by the clear glass allows for easy monitoring of the starter’s activity, giving bakers a reliable tool for timing their bakes. While the jar is praised for its design and quality, it is important to note that it does not come with sealing components such as lids, gaskets, or clips, which are sold separately. This aspect has been noted by customers who were initially unaware, although some affirm that for their purposes—specifically for maintaining a sourdough starter—this is not a disadvantage as a tight seal is not desirable. Instead, many users find that placing a small plate over the jar is an effective solution for keeping out dust. The aesthetic appeal of the jar further enhances its reception, with several users expressing satisfaction that it looks good enough to display on a countertop rather than storing it away in a cabinet. The 745 model size is also appreciated by bakers, providing just the right capacity without being overwhelming. In summary, the Weck 745 tulip jar is a well-received choice for sourdough enthusiasts, noted for its design, durability, and functionality, while also serving as an attractive kitchen accessory. **
