RENOGY Solar Panels Editorial Review
The Renogy Flexible Solar Panel is a 50 watt, 12 volt monocrystalline flexible bendable mono off-grid charger for marine, RV, cabin, van, car, and uneven surfaces. It is a very nice flex panel that is light weight and easy to use, with brass grommets that are very convenient. One customer has mounted it on the main hatch of their sailboat and it conforms perfectly to the curve of the hatch top, keeping their group 27 marine deep cycle battery fully charged and exceeding all their expectations. While it installs easily, some customers have had to cut and splice the MC4-SAE adapter to reverse the polarity, which could be made easier if Renogy made this sort of information readily available and offered a gender-bender MC4 to SAE adapter. The ordering and purchasing process is easy and smooth, with well-packaged products that are of excellent top-notch quality. One customer uses it for their overland Jeep build and finds it more than enough panel. However, one customer only gets 36-40 watts out of it in full sunshine, so it may not be as good as it's rated. Others hope the connectors on the panel itself hold up better than in prior versions where they have been its Achilles heel.
