The Satechi Thunderbolt 4 Dock has received mixed reviews from customers. Some found it excellent, while others found it lacking in some areas. All three Thunderbolt ports are compatible with Mac systems, including data transfer, video output and charging. The audio jack will dynamically register as Realtek when headphones are plugged in. The DAC can change the output volume to maximum and balance all the way to one side, even during reboots. The QGeeM 16 in 1 Thunderbolt 4 Docking Station was recommended as a better alternative by a customer. However, the Satechi Dock was found to be of exceptional build quality, enabling users to use Mac or PC and extend multiple screens smoothly. It does not have every port, but it has all the ports most people need, and it charges tablets and smartphones, albeit pretty slowly. The USB 3.2 ports are powered and data only, despite the product description, which makes it a better hub than described. Some customers have found that it does not work as well as directly plugging their MacBook into the monitor, with some users only receiving 30Hz on one monitor when going through the dock.
