You can also offer treats behind your back to reward the dog for being behind you. This leash is not recommended for puppies as their necks are not fully developed until 18 months. The best size for a 35-pound dog is the standard slip lead leash. It is not recommended to use the leash to tie up a dog. Some customers have provided feedback that there is no size chart available, and this info should be in the product description. A common problem with this leash is that it gets damaged and the slip will not stay put.
